Dagstuhl Seminar 02391 : CRYPTOGRAPHY Sep . 22 - 27 , 2002

Since the advent of public key cryptography, about twenty-five years ago, the field of cryptography has been developing very rapidly. Constantly, there are new areas and new issues to investigate. The advance of the Internet as the major computing paradigm has increased the applicability and diversity of the field. The aim of the 2002 Cryptography seminar was to provide an opportunity to focus on the scientific foundation of cryptography, to spot the emerging new areas based on recent advances in theory and technology needs, and to work on them. The emphasis of the seminar was on the conceptual framework that allows the use of appropriate models, amenable to mathematical reasoning.
